High School/College:
Advocating for the Environment

This course covers the basic concepts of advocacy, government, and communications. It includes a hands-on project where student teams choose a topic; complete research, stakeholder analysis, campaign strategy; and present written and oral testimony. The course has been taught at Bates and Colby Colleges. Available as a full 3-credit course. A 2-day “Advocate in Residence” program gives a taste of this material.
